Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What should I do to prepare for your visit?

A: Here are some suggestions that will make our work go more quickly:

1) Make sure the computer is fully accessible. We may need to get inside the computer, so having easy access to the computer is essential.

2) Have all original CD's that came with your computer readily available.

Q: Do you guarantee your work?

A: Yes.  We guarantee that when we are finished with the job and collect payment that the work we were called in to perform will be done. If the problem was a virus or spyware, we guarantee that the virus or spyware will be gone from the computer when we leave.

However, we cannot guarantee that you will not get more viruses or spyware after we leave. We have no control over what you may download from the Internet, so we cannot guarantee that you will remain free from viruses and spyware after we leave.  If you keep your antivirus and antispyware programs up to date and run scans regularly, you should be fine.

Q: My computer crashed or I cannot get into Windows. Can you retrieve my documents, pictures, email, etc?

A: In most cases, yes we can. Please call us for more details. If you are hearing loud clicking, grinding, or other mechanical noises coming from your computer, stop using the computer immediately in order to prevent damage to your information.

Q: How long does a service call usually take?

A: It can vary by job, but the "average" job is usually 1-1/2 hours.  If it will require too much more time, we may take the PC back to our shop.

Q: Where would you suggest I shop for a good but inexpensive computer?

A: Why, from us of course!  We build very high quality systems and optimize them to outperform anything you can find in the "Big-Box" stores.  They are also non-proprietary in design, so upgrades, spare parts and repairs are much cheaper than the big brands.  They also come with a One Year Guarantee!  Call us for details, as prices are always falling.

As far as the other makes are concerned, their computers are pretty similar these days.  They cut lots of corners though, so you get a cheaper and less durable machine.  If you go this route, shop around for sales at any of the major retailers in your area, including office supply stores.  Buying online is also a great alternative, but please stick to reputable dealers.

Q: What kind of experience do your technicians have?

A: All our technicians have at least 6 years of experience and possess an industry certification.

Q: Does the time start when you get to my house or when you are traveling?

A: When we get to your place.  We do not charge for travel time, unless you live in a far outlying area, such as Vail, Sahuarita, etc.

Q: Where are you located?

A: Wherever you are!  We cover all of greater Tucson.  We have an office location as well.  We are located on the east side of town, off Tanque Verde Road, between Grant and Sabino Canyon Road.  The address is 2231 N. Indian Ruins Road, Suite #6.

Q: Can I bring my computer to you to have it worked on?

A: Yes, absolutely.  It's cheaper that way.  Call for an appointment first, as we are sometimes so busy, we are all out on the road.

Q: Do you offer phone support?

A: Generally not, but if you need assistance or clarification within a week of our service visit, we will be happy to help you over the phone.  This only applies to the issue that we helped you with on the service visit.

Q: What if my PC needs to have Windows XP reinstalled. What do I need to know and what steps can I take to prepare for this?

A: If your PC is in such bad shape that it needs to be rebuilt, we'll need to wipe your system and reinstall Windows.

Please gather all of the CD's or installation disks for any programs that you are using on your computer. This includes such programs as:

1) Software Programs:
  • Microsoft Office (includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access, and Outlook)
  • Internet service programs such as America Online, Earthlink, Net Zero, etc.
  • Personal finance or accounting/tax software, such as Quicken, Quickbooks, Microsoft Money, Peachtree, Turbo Tax, etc.
  • Games, Photo Editing, CD/DVD Burning, and any programs you installed after you bought your computer
  • AntiVirus or Firewall software, such as Norton, McAfee, Zone Alarm, etc.
  • Your Windows CD, if your computer came with one.  Some manufacturers no longer give out these CD's, so you may not have one.

2) Data Files:

Make a list of any other personal information you want to keep and tell us you want us to back it up. This usually includes:
  • Contents of the 'My Documents' folder (documents, pictures, music and multimedia files)
  • Favorite Internet sites/bookmarks
  • Email, Address Book, and Calendar
  • Financial data from programs such as Quicken, Quickbooks, Microsoft Money, etc.
